About Investors in Diversity

The Investors in Diversity standard is a framework of activities which continues to help us to develop a set of characteristics and behaviours which will lead to real and sustainable cultural diversity within the college. It enables us to measure our progress towards this goal.

By achieving the Investors in Diversity standard Joseph Priestley College has:

• Gained recognition for our work to have diversity at the heart of what we do
• Raised awareness about the benefits of inclusive practices in the workplace
• Developed processes in how we manage diversity and inclusion within the College and our relationship with stakeholders
• Developed good practice in the field of diversity and inclusion
• Started us on the journey to continuously develop and disseminate new and innovative approaches to diversity and inclusion.

The National Centre for Diversity, who operates as the awarding body for Investors in Diversity believes because everyone is different, diversity, should not be seen as a peripheral issue about people from minorities as it has been in the past. It is a mainstream issue and it should be understood in that context: Joseph Priestley College endorses this view.
