It is a legal requirement under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 as amended by the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 for all public authorities to develop and implement a Disability Equality Scheme (DES). Disability Equality SchemeThe College developed the attached Single Equality Scheme in July 2009 and as such took account of the Equality Bill as it stood at that time. The college will review the scheme in the light of the recent (April 2010) enactment of the bill and the impending publication of the related codes of practice (July and Autumn 2010).The college is currently developing a corresponding action plan. This will ensure that the College builds on what it has already achieved, further embedding disability equality into mainstream activity.
